What Materials Are Safe To Use As Guinea Pig Toys?

What makes good toys for a piggy in a 3′x2′ cage. He does come out for free time but in his cage i would like some stuff to entertain him. Are cardboard boxes okay? I want him to have more things to chew than just his wood carrot and the apple orchard sticks. Any suggestions on stuff youve used would be great. Thanks!

You can get untreated willow balls that can be tossed around. Also, hard plastic cat toy type balls with a bell inside can be fun.
A paper bag stuffed with hay and then smooshed shut can keep them entertained for a long time. Or maybe my Timothy isn’t that smart :-)

they LOVE anything that they can run through, I’ve bought a Chube from my pet shop before, which is basically a cardboard tube that they can chew. I’ve given them toilet paper, and they love chewing it up and throwing it about. I tried giving them a plastic ball with a bell in it from the pet shop but they weren’t interested – they were scared of the bell at first.
They also love chewing on willow branches (again from pet shop) = anything natural like wood, or cardboard boxes/tubes etc… but trust me they love to run through tubes it entertains them for ages lol

My piggies love PVC plumbing pipes. They are cheap to buy and come in lots of different shapes. They love running through them. In winter, put blankets in them and they love to snuggle up in them.
Cardboard boxes are fine – just make sure that there is no glue on them as this can kill piggies if they eat them. Do you have hay in the cage? They love to chew on hay all day long.

my piggy loves to play in a cardboard oatmeal container with both ends off.
she hides in there and chews it. just make sure that if your piggy pees in it you throw it away. ours lasted for 3 weeks.
after that she peed in it and out it went. don’t want to keep those icky germs in there.
we also get (from the pet store) the little grass kits that you can grow grass. our miley nibbles and plays with it (supervised of course) when she is done playing we remove it.
they also like little stuffed animals. make sure if she chews on it you remove it. we got a tiny little stuffed mouse (cat toy without cat nip) and she sleeps with it. she will pull it into her house when she sleeps and snuggle with it.

A good toy for your guinea pig would be maybe run wheel or a toy that hangs from the top of the cage
